A very short post today as I immerse myself in Christmas dinner preparation for 15, wrapping paper and tinsel. There is nothing better than a tramp through crunchy golden leaves on a fresh Autumn day, especially if you have just learnt to walk and everything is a novelty. We had a lovely time chasing Amelia and her family through the autumn leaves recently on a family shoot. Amelia was so proud of her new walkiing skills that she was not keen on keeping still for long so there was a lot of rolling around after her and distracting her with late blooming rose petals to throw in the air!

Walking in a Winter Wonderland – a festive family shoot

Once upon a time there was an angel called Lily who was discovering the magic of Christmas and winter for the very first time. The sparkle of tinsle, the twinkle of fairy lights, that first feel of icy snow falling through your fingers, the never ending crisp white blanket of untouched snow and the crunch crunch of those first steps.

With snow either here or on the way I thought it would be fitting to revisit a magical family shoot from this time last year. We skidded up to Huddersfield to photograph Sam, Rich and Lily decorating the Christmas tree and then tramping through the knee high blanket of pristine, crisp white snow. It was my absolute favourite winter shoot and after seeing these photos I guarantee you will be filled with Christmas spirit and the thought of the snow to come will not feel quite so bad.

Lazing on a Sunny Afternoon – Gorgeous Holly makes her debut

At the end of September when we basked in the gloriously unexpected late summer heatwave I had a lovely few hours photographing beautiful Holly with her mum and dad, Leanne & Neil. After some posing in the park, Holly had a little nap-she looked so sweet that we just carried on photographing, and then we were back home so that dog Ruby could join in the fun.

Ruby shines – a baby portrait

A couple of months ago I had the pleasure of photographing the gorgeous Ruby at her home in Worsley. She was a lovely doll of a baby, gentle and placid and a joy to work with. I love photographing new babies-their tiny little hands and feet, soft skin and big eyes, then watching them develop individual personalities as they grow into chuckling chubby babies and cheeky tottering toddlers as part of our Watch Me Grow service.

Happy Birthday Eliza

Well anyone who works from home with children will know that school holidays are a challenge-particularly the neverending summer hols! However, this year my two have been pretty good-maybe they are getting to the age where they can fend for themselves a bit more but it has mainly been fantastic

Well today I will not be working-at least not in the usual sense. I will be baking chocolate brownies, buttering bread for ham sandwiches (with the crusts cut off) and finding the stubs of candles from the last party. Eliza is 7 today and she is having a Spongebob themed water party. This basically involves wearing something yellow and having a massive water fight with 20 children which I am sure I will regret at 6pm when they all go home! So today my blogpost is all about Eliza-just a few of her posey pics taken over about 4 years. I would love to know which is your favourite and why. Last week when the schools were on strike and I had my gorgeous daughters off unexpectedly for the day, I took the opportunity to attempt to get some updated photos of the two of them.

Now you would think that being photographers we would have hundreds of photos of the two of them-you would be wrong!

Over the last couple of days I have featured Liv and Eliza individually and today to finish the week off I have some lovely images of the two of them together. Now the fact that they allowed me to photograph them together and amazingly that they seemed to like each other is a miracle to behold. Like most sisters they can be playing together one minute and all out fighting the next. So like any mum I love these happy smiley pictures of my lovely girls

Yesterday I posted a few images of Eliza and today it’s Liv’s turn. Super speedy athlete, kitchen cleaning saviour & lover of R&B (that is nearly a hanging offence in an indie loving household). I was very surprised to find Liv in a posey mood. She is nearly 10 and going through a self conscious stage-too cool for photos and what will her friends think?! So I made the most of it.

Meet the family – today Eliza makes daisy chains in the fields

Last week when the schools were on strike and I had my gorgeous daughters off unexpectedly for the day, I took the opportunity to attempt to get some updated photos of the two of them.

Now you would think that being photographers we would have hundreds of photos of the two of them-you would be wrong

I guess like any family our girls will only “perform” when they feel like it, and as we are always out and about photographing other people’s beautiful families, spending any amount of time photographing our two is a rarity. Also Liv is nearly 10 and going through a self conscious stage-too cool for photos and what will her friends think?! Finally they have a definite love/hate relationship-some days they play beautifully together and sometimes they kick holes out of each other-sisters eh? As you can imagine I was not holding out much hope for co operation.

First up – Eliza – Spongebob superfan, card sharp, lover of all things sparkly and street dancer extroadinaire.
