Happy Anniversary to Sue and Dave – And you will take my hand and make believe it’s Wonderland

…….And you will take my hand, and make believe it’s wonderland. I need the love of you, I am a working man, I feel the winter too.

This time last year we photographed Dave and Sue’s fabulous festive wedding. We had sunshine, snow, Christmas trees, Harry Potter and Star Wars! Today Dave is whisking Sue away for a romantic weekend away in Rome and I want to pass on my congratulations whilst they celebrate their first year as husband and wife.

And the trees are stripped bare of all they wear, what do I care…an Autumn shoot in the ruins

First things first, do you recognise the lyrics in the title? Special Christmas bonus points for anyone who does%Manchester Photographers And the trees are stripped bare of all they wear, what do I care...an Autumn shoot in the ruins

Today we are at Priory Ruins in Dudley for a late autumn engagement shoot with Debbie and Mike. We hijacked a wedding, crunched through the leaves, lay in the leaves, strolled through the ruins and I risked life and limb by sitting on Keith’s shoulders for that extra height to get the perfect shot.

Debbie and Mike have now booked us to photograph their fabulous Spring wedding in Cambridge in April and we can’t wait. In the meantime, snuggle up under a blanket with a hot chocolate and enjoy the crisp Autumnal images.

All the leaves are brown, and the sky is grey….a family shoot

There is nothing better than a tramp through crunchy golden leaves on a fresh Autumn day, especially if you have just learnt to walk and everything is a novelty. We had a lovely time chasing Amelia and her family through the autumn leaves recently on a family shoot. Amelia was so proud of her new walkiing skills that she was not keen on keeping still for long so there was a lot of rolling around after her and distracting her with late blooming rose petals to throw in the air!

Here are a few of our favourite images and would love your comments. My favourite blog comments will win a family shoot of their very own, with framed desk print, worth £450, so what are you waiting for?

If you’re gonna do it do it right……..a DIY engagement shoot

Love is sharing all experiences, the good, the bad and the ugly, the things you are desperate to do and those you would rather avoid. Laughing, crying, working playing and this engagement shoot represents all of these things.

Emma and Gary are getting married at Belle Epoque on 17 December and whilst preparing for their wedding they have also bought a new house that is need of lots of tender loving care. They have undertaken a massive DIY project that has consumed their lives. They are living in their one nice room, the bedroom, and have recently got very excited when they finally got to use a real oven (crispy food was a distant memory after months of microwave delights). So when we were arranging their engagement shoot it was apt that the decided to use that DIY project within the shoot and we think it worked a treat!

Walking in a Winter Wonderland – a festive family shoot

Once upon a time there was an angel called Lily who was discovering the magic of Christmas and winter for the very first time. The sparkle of tinsle, the twinkle of fairy lights, that first feel of icy snow falling through your fingers, the never ending crisp white blanket of untouched snow and the crunch crunch of those first steps.

With snow either here or on the way I thought it would be fitting to revisit a magical family shoot from this time last year. We skidded up to Huddersfield to photograph Sam, Rich and Lily decorating the Christmas tree and then tramping through the knee high blanket of pristine, crisp white snow. It was my absolute favourite winter shoot and after seeing these photos I guarantee you will be filled with Christmas spirit and the thought of the snow to come will not feel quite so bad.

Leave a comment and you’ll have a chance to win a fabulous winter shoot of your very own with a free desk frame, worth £450.

Claire - English Wedding blog - December 9, 2011 - 6:19 pm

This is beautiful! Love the first pic, made me smile too. There are such lovely pics of Lily as well – the snowy backdrops, little rosy cheeks…

I must admit I went straight for the pictures, got halfway through then thought “where on earth have they been?!” and had to check and find out the shoot was last year. Hee! I write for a living; you’d think I could read too wouldn’t you.

Beautiful pics. I’ll share this on my blog – don’t enter me in your competition though, I have the grumpiest teenage stepchildren ever! (bless ‘em!)

Claire xx

Jenny & Keith - December 10, 2011 - 7:16 am

Thanks for the lovely comments Claire :) Lily is gorgeous and since then she has a little sister so cant wait for part 2-hopefully in the Spring. Her dad had just returned from serving in Afghanistan so the snow was a bit of a shock to him! I love photographing grumpy teenagers-they usually end up being the biggest posers!
