Celtic Manor Resort wedding- a sneak peek-top hats and rollers

A couple of weeks ago we had the pleasure of photographing Kate & Steve’s sumptuous Celtic Manor Resort wedding in Newport, Wales. Celtic Manor is a fabulous resort of 3 interconnecting hotels and the honeymoon suite is bigger than my house! Whilst Kate & Steve honeymoon in Mexico I am just showing a tiny taster of their images until their return. Ruby shines – a baby portrait

A couple of months ago I had the pleasure of photographing the gorgeous Ruby at her home in Worsley. She was a lovely doll of a baby, gentle and placid and a joy to work with. I love photographing new babies-their tiny little hands and feet, soft skin and big eyes, then watching them develop individual personalities as they grow into chuckling chubby babies and cheeky tottering toddlers as part of our Watch Me Grow service.

Here  are a few of the images taken of Ruby. Tell me which is your favourite and at teh end of August I will choose my favourite comment -the winner will receive a free portrait session and discounted prints and frames. So get commenting!

Edgehill University wedding – a family affair

The sun is shining and of course it is the day I have to go to Laser Quest with a bunch of 10 year olds! So as I can’t soak up the rays today I thought I could share the sunshine from a Summer wedding from 2010. Jenni and Phill were married at their local church where both Jenni and Phill have worshipped since they were children. They went to the same school together and now Jenni is a teacher at that school. Jenni’s class came and sang in church. Her dad is the minister at the church so had a dual role of walking Jenni up the aisle, giving her away and conducting the marriage ceremony too. It was a fabulously joyous, personal service full of love and celebration. The reception was held at Edgehill University, where Jenni and Phill both studied to become teachers (they could not even bear to be apart at uni) so again it was very special to the two of them-full of cherished memories.

Happy Birthday Eliza

Well anyone who works from home with children will know that school holidays are a challenge-particularly the neverending summer hols! However, this year my two have been pretty good-maybe they are getting to the age where they can fend for themselves a bit more but it has mainly been fantastic%Manchester Photographers Happy Birthday Eliza

Well today I will not be working-at least not in the usual sense. I will be baking chocolate brownies, buttering bread for ham sandwiches (with the crusts cut off) and finding the stubs of candles from the last party. Eliza is 7 today and she is having a Spongebob themed water party. This basically involves wearing something yellow and having a massive water fight with 20 children which I am sure I will regret at 6pm when they all go home! So today my blogpost is all about Eliza-just a few of her posey pics taken over about 4 years. I would love to know which is your favourite and why. The best answer will receive a free family portrait session, with discounted prices for prints, to be used before the end of the year-so get commenting%Manchester Photographers Happy Birthday Eliza

And all I have left to say is Happy Birthday sweetheart.

I’m torn between two favourites – the one with the umbrella (I love the look of joy on her face – every umbrella day needs this look) and my other favourite the ‘sisters take a stroll’ one. I have a big sis and this pic just reminds me of us – even from the back they look like they’re whispering sister-things and striding off on an adventure together. Exactly what sisters are made for. Beautiful :)

Jenny & Keith - August 17, 2011 - 9:43 am

Thanks Claire- I love them both too but then I’m biased! Even though the sisters photo is 3 years od it is still framed nice and big in my hall-I love it :)

Natalie - August 17, 2011 - 10:49 am

My favourite is dressing up the second image, she looks so pretty and reminds me of being her age and wearing my mums wedding dress.
My other favourite is fun with brollies as she has that perfect cheeky grin the colour of the photo is striking, what child doesnt love playing with a brollie i know my 3 year old is constantly outside with one when it rains haha. Amazing pictures xxx

Jenny & Keith - August 17, 2011 - 11:27 am

Thanks Natalie – she looks like butter wouldn’t melt in her mouth-and they say the camera never lies :)

Wendy Ruffle - August 17, 2011 - 6:45 pm

Too many gorgeous ones to choose from, but if you forced me I’d say the graffiti wall shot, very funky!!!

Wendy Ruffle - August 17, 2011 - 6:46 pm

…….or the beach fairy xx

Laura - August 17, 2011 - 6:54 pm

I just loooove the first photograph on the beach.

The natural feel of the shot along with the gorgeous blue sky and the colours of Eliza’s dress just give such an innocent feel about it. Such a little cutie, Happy Birthday Eliza! :)

Emma {Vintage Magpie} - August 17, 2011 - 7:12 pm

Happy Birthday!!
I adore the ones on the beach….it reminds me of images of our family for generations…i love the sea!
Have fun x

Kay McEllin - August 17, 2011 - 8:20 pm

Oh my god how can you expect me to choose one? they are all gorgeous! You are so lucky to have these beautiful pics of your girls to treasure;)I used to wear glasses as a child and my Mum used to always tell me to take them off for photos, it used to make me so mad, I would always look away in disgust, my specs were part of me! I realise now why my Mum used to do it, especially with my 70s style specs! Eliza looks so cool in hers though, they give her character and add to the colour in the pics. Wait a mo, let me have another look…..OK I can only narrow it down to 3, again the umbrella one. – love her cheeky smile and the colours are so girly. I also love both of the outdoor sunny flowers ones , the colour is stunning, they caught my eye the first time I saw them on your blog, oh I love the Spongebob one too…ooops that’s 4!

Jenny & Keith - August 18, 2011 - 8:56 am

Hi Kay-this is why we never print any pics off because I can’t decide which ones I like the best! My specs were horrible as a child too-1970s pale ink NHS ones-with a matching patch-lovely!

Jenny & Keith - August 18, 2011 - 8:57 am

I love this one laura-this is actually up on our wall :)

Jenny & Keith - August 18, 2011 - 8:58 am

Thanks Emma-can’t beat rolling in sand-getting me in the mood for our mini hol to Weymouth next week!

Kay McEllin - August 19, 2011 - 12:19 pm

Mine were prob the same style in blue Jenny, I didn’t mind them though at the time, it was the patch I used to hate!

Beth Mottershead - August 22, 2011 - 2:27 pm

My first ever blog comment for you! I think they are all absolutely stunning and the colours are amazing. I like any where she is wearing glasses as you can’t beat a funky pair of specs. I also love the beach butterfly one and the two sisters scene is adorable. Overall, I think the daffodils one is my favourite :) Happy (belated) birthday Eliza!! x

Jenny & Keith - August 22, 2011 - 3:27 pm

Thanks Beth-she now has a new pair of funky specs-at her age mishaps happen regularly! New ones very bling!

Carden Park wedding – a nostalgic look back to 2010

We’ve had so many gorgeous weddings recently and I am busy beavering away editing them to show our lovely couples when they return from honeymoon. In the meantime it’s lovely to look back on some weddings from last year that I have never had chance to blog about. We first met Vicki & Ian a year ago for their engagement shoot. Vicki originates from Manchester, Andy from Liverpool but they moved down South to work as police officers there. However they always planned to marry up North and their engagement shoot was very local to us-round the corner in fact at Worsley’s Bridgewater Canal.

They were delighted with the results and Vicki and Andy booked us to photograph their fabulous wedding at Carden Park, Chester in November 2010.  Carden park is a luxurious country hotel, golf resort and spa set in over 1000 acres of rolling Cheshire countryside.

Vicki and Andy chose vibrant red and white for their colour scheme and it looked fab and for someone who is used to wearing the practical clothes of a police officer, Vicki looked beautiful-reducing Andy to tears during the ceremony.

Neither Vicki or Andy are comfortable in front of a camera and although they were much more relaxed after their engagement shoot, we were conscious that we would not be taking them off for overly posey photos.

We photograph weddings from early in the morning to well into the evening and most of this is candid informal shots, with 10 minutes spells of more posed photos so that a couple can spend as much time as possible with their guests-after all this is why they are invited%Manchester Photographers Carden Park wedding a nostalgic look back to 2010

Well enough of me jabbering on-let’s get the photos to speak for themselves and would love to know what you think-leave a comment-it makes me happy%Manchester Photographers Carden Park wedding a nostalgic look back to 2010
