It’s time for another of our Introducing series, a regular feature showcasing the very best UK wedding suppliers. With that in mind it is my pleasure to introduce the fabulous Kay McEllin of Wrapor Shrugs.  I will let Kay herself do the talking.

I create unique bridal and evening dress wraps, shrugs and bolero jackets, tailormade to match or compliment your gown.

I was a bridalwear seamstress for 20 years and during fittings would often notice that brides would often look uncomfortable trying to keep a traditional wrap in place, especially when walking and carrying flowers etc.

In 2007 a friend asked me if I could help to cover a small tattoo on her shoulder on her wedding day. Kelly was not too keen on bolero jackets, but instead requested a minimalist style, to just cover her shoulders and to compliment her dress without overpowering it. After several attempts with matching satin, the Wrapor shrug was born.

Kelly wore the new creation all day and into the evening and it stayed in place effortlessly, even on the dance floor…she absolutely loved it!

I attended a 3 month business course at Manchester Metropolitan University and have been selling online ever since. I have received orders from all over the country and worldwide, via my website www.wraporuk.co.uk.

The designs are very popular with brides, bridesmaids and also mothers of the bride, looking for a little coverage whilst complimenting their dress. The clever design looks like a traditional wrap from the front, but is tailored to slip on like a jacket without fastenings of any kind, and is maded to match the fabric of your dress. It is available in sizes 6-30.

As a web based business I do not have the opportunity to meet many brides in person, so I love to receive emails and photos of my customers, wearin my designs and looking beautiful on their big day. I can then display these on my website for all to see

On number one tip I can offer brides to be would be to say your wedding dress is the most flattering garment you are ever likely to wear-if it fits well. Always buy a dress that fits perfectly or is a little too big, as it is much easier to take a dress in if you lose weight, than it is to let it out. Plus you can then avoid any extra stress and pressue to lose weight in the run up to your wedding, relax….you will look fabulous!
