A Dalston Hotel wedding – groomsmen rule

In March we had a fabulous time photographing Erin & Mark’s sundrenched Spring wedding at the beautiful Dalston Hall. Erin is shy in front of the camera but as you can see from the morning images-Mark is definitely not. I love this series of images of Mark and his groomsmen-relaxed, teasing and fun-exactly how friends should be together. Throw in a sprinkling of detail and a first glimpse of Erin in her dress and we are ready for the main event. Would love to know what you think.

A Heaton Park engagement shoot – love in the daffodils

Last month we had a fabulous couple of hours photographing Gemma and Mike’s engagement shoot at Heaton Park. The early evening sun gave off beautifully soft light before falling into a balmy twilight. We even had a random singer softly playing acoustic guitar on a park bench by the lake for an added touch of unexpected romance.

A Sefton Park engagement shoot – Spring, Spring, Spring…

Every field wears a bonnet with some spring daisies on it, even birds of a feather show their clothes off together. Sun’s gettin’ shinery, to spotlight the finery, Spring, Spring, Spring.

We recently had the pleasure of photographing Lauren and Chris at Sefton Park on the last of the early sunny days before the weather turned decidely wintry again-hey ho-bound to happen before the bank Holiday! It was a day of waterfalls, daffodils, parosols and rainbows. Would love to have your thoughts.

Art deco decadence with Erica Stacey Bridalwear

On Monday we spent an unexpectedly sweltering day at the seaside. We were photographing Erica Stacey’s fabulous collection of couture wedding gowns at the gorgeous Art Deco Midland Hotel in Morecambe. We had hoped for dry weather so that we could get outside onto the pier and seafront but never in a million years did we expect azure blue sea and skies and glorious sunshine.

A fabulously talented team was asssembled. The incomparable Erica Stacey and Terry Keane of Erica Stacey Brides, Adi Thomas of Verdure Floral Design, Hayley Stott-our model and makeup artist, and us, assisted by the unflappable Bethany Charles.

The Midland Hotel provided the perfect backdrop for Erica’s vintage inspired luxury gowns, with it’s sweeping staircase, decadent cocktail bar and airy function rooms. Adi Thomas provided perfect floral accompaniments to the gowns-from large exhuberant displays and simple bouquets to decorated fan and parasols.

Hayley was transformed into a 1920s film siren and did a fabulous job as a first time model.

City chic engagement shoot – Megan and Dean – glamour and giggles

Last weekend we met up with Megan and Dean for their Manchester engagement shoot. We had first met the two of them the Sunday before at a wedding show and they took advantage of our show offer of a free engagement shoot. We had great fun around the urban setting of Manchester City Centre, dodging raindrops and empty beer cans and had a fabulous mixture of fun giggly images and full on glamour and romance.

On Friday Megan and Dean saw the results and were delighted. Not only have they chosen an album’s worth of engagement images, but have also booked us for their wedding next September. We are excited to be a part of their celebrations and today we are showcasing just a few of the lovely images from last weekend.

New years come and new years go, pieces of time all in a row. As we live our life, each second and minute, we know we’re privileged to have you in it.
Our appreciation never ends for our greatest blessings: our family and friends. Happy New Year!

Whilst everyone across the land was drinking too much, eating too much, dancing badly, kissing random strangers and counting down the minutes to the New Year, we were photographing Leanne & Richard’s fun filled family wedding at the Quorn Hotel in Leicestershire.

We were there with this gorgeous pair and their adorable son Ellis, from 10am until 12.30am New Year’s Day, capturing their wonderful day in all it’s glory. No that their honeymoon in Mauritius (sigh) is a distant memory. Today I am sharing with you their lovely speeches, gorgoeus images of the 2 of them and celebrating the New Year in style. We have a very privileged and happy job. We get to see love unfold over the months before our very eyes. We get to see the first exciting moments as an engaged couple start to plan their perfect wedding day, we are there to ensure their wedding photography is spectacular and we do everything in our power to enhance that magical day. We are often seen smoothing ruffled feathers, handing out champagne, buttoning up dresses when bridesmaids are shaking too much, delivering buttonholes to forgetful grooms and generally getting stuck in and documenting every moment.

We capture memories as they happen and we love every minute. We promise to be discreet and attentive, as we illustrate and impart the story of that love from the the first whisper of mascara and silk to the swish of lace in a meadow or heels on a parquet floor, the thumping bass of a disco or the silence of a romantic evening. Focusing on heartfelt emotions, we shoot endless expression, a giggling baby, a groom embarrassed by his bestman, the happy tears of a proud father or the uniqueness of a couple’s love for each other.

We love the whole process from meeting a bride and groom for the first time, seeing a shy bride blossom into a confident diva, right through to the day and the viewing when a couple see their images for the first time-magic!
